What Is Your Why?

There is no end to the reasons people do and choose as they do. Mainly, they look for a Why that is directly correlated with their happiness, but this rarely seems to be the case. Often, they only see their Why connected with a need. Even worse, connected to something that they are forced to do making their Why even more difficult to obtain, such as a job they don't like to pay for life's necessities

What Is The Why You Have?

For most people, their Why is about money. "I have to make a certain amount of money so I can have the things I want, or provide for my family, or enjoy a certain status." Think about that. What can you add to that list? Do you find that most of the items are not all that gratifying?

What Is The Why You Want?

How can you figure out what your Why should look like? That is different for every individual. It requires a bit of a 'gut check', though. You will need to dig deep. Ask yourself (and seriously take some time to consider the answers) What do you value the most in life? What would it take to make that your reality? Be prepared, the answers to your Why consist of a balance much bigger than any single aspect of your life. Your Why will most assuredly require balancing many different segments of your life. Change. Redirection. A different thought process.

How Do You Switch?

You will need to make a plan. Write it out. First, what is your Why? Then the steps necessary for you to achieve it. Follow it through from start to finish. Refer to your plan often. Alter and optimize your plan from time to time. Then stick to it. Think of this as your Roadmap to Success. Studies show that people who write out their goals and refer to them have a much higher success rate than those who don't

I'll Do It Later

Clint Eastwood once said, "Tomorrow is promised to no one." I agree. The future is now. Make life's adjustments as you are able, sooner rather than later. Life is so much better when it's on your terms. Add value to your life while you are still in a position to enjoy the improvements. So many people work a job for 25 years, always saving for some mythological future. Wouldn't it be better to enjoy the fruits of your life's purpose and journey while you can still enjoy them?

Why Change My Why?

The simple answer is to improve your quality of life. There is a lot more to it than that. You can evolve into the person you always saw yourself being. "Quality of Life" also means different things to different people. To some it means less time working. To others, it means more time to be with the family. Others still might consider doing things they have always wanted to do and never seemed to have the time before. No matter what the answer or combination of answers, you can develop the lifestyle you've always dreamed of simply by starting with Why?
