Being Your Own Boss is a Thrilling Ride, but Buckle Up
There's nothing more rewarding than being the captain of your own ship, to be in charge of your own destiny. It's one of life's major goals... to Become Your Own Boss.
But what does that mean?
For many people, it's a goal that always seems just out of reach. It just never seems to be the right time. You are about ready for that new promotion, you're expecting the new baby or the money just isn't there to back you up, and so forth.
The real problem is that there's no perfect time. Every time it looks like it's the perfect time something else comes along. The car breaks down, the kids need braces, you name it, it will get in your way somehow.
The truth is, there's never a perfect time. People don't usually tell you that, but that's the truth of it. When was the last time it was the perfect time to have a major change in your life? Overwhelmingly, the answer is never.
The More Important Question.
Could you be your own boss? Do you have the talent, the discipline, the education, or the experience? According to a recent Gallup Poll, 61% of people would prefer to be their own boss. But, what is it that keeps them from achieving that? Most people fear failure. Still others worried about the risk involved. and often they can't make the jump because they don't see the benefits of being your own boss vs. that risk of losing everything.
Entrepreneurs are Risk-Takers.
The bigger the risk, the bigger the pay-off in the long run. As long as one prepares for the “Long Haul”, and have a great business platform, a great menu of products or services, a reasonable amount of liquid assets to get started, and a lot of self-discipline, and someone to show them the way, they can expect to be very successful in their own business ventures.
